Re: Spite
Very clever boots.
I like that it's clean and simple, and that the panels only portray what is absolutely necessary to appreciate the joke/saying - what I mean by that is I'm glad you didn't feel it was necessary to add a background or finish the design to the floor.
BootsBoots wrote:Smug pot.
I have to say, I liked the original design better, that pot was more of a magnificent bastard than a smug Crow. ![]()
Re: Spite
Not that I would wear it anyway, but I really liked the original version with the mean pot and sad man. It made me smile. I don't like the changes.

Hah! I liked the mean pot too, but this one is good also.
Re: Spite
Thanks so much for the comments, guys. Sorry some of you liked the earlier version better. I was torn between the two, myself. ![]()
Re: Spite
Really clever, Boots. I love it! Your colors are well chosen, and I love the simplicity of the design.
BootsBoots wrote:Smug pot.
Awwww~! I liked the earlier version better... I still like it though =)
Re: Spite
Thanks again for all the comments! This one was really fun to do. I think I've decided that I really do like the pot in this version more, but then again I like my Observers smug, rather than crazy.
Re: Spite
If only the same principle worked with designs that I'd like to see print. Boil, darn you! err, I mean print. (clicks button & turns head)
BootsBoots wrote:Smug pot.
I remember the first time I made spaghetti; I used the recommended amount of water... it took over an hour to come to a boil for only 3 servings... GMV!
Re: Spite
I also like the colors. I don't love the triangle hand in the first pic but that's just me being picky. :p
Good luck Miss. Boots!

I'm assuming there's an old saying that this shirt is based on... care to enlighten a foreigner? XD
Very nice Boots =) It made me laugh!
As an aside, I was very happy when I discovered 'We Like Them On The Grill' in my 3 random shirts order! =D

Re: Spite
Out of curiosity, Why are there four knobs on the front of the stove when there's only one burner?
...just wondering ;^)
Re: Spite
Very nice... Totally got my vote!

One to set the oven to bake/broil/clean. One to set the oven temp. One for the burner. And one for the hell of it.
Once again, thanks for all the votes and comments. Appreciated, everyone!
Re: Spite
I feel like my kettle gives me this treatment every morning. Cheeky cookware.
Christinanana wrote:I feel like my kettle gives me this treatment every morning. Cheeky cookware.
Watched water never boils!
The more I see this design the more I like it.
Re: Spite
Knew this was yours the minute I saw it. Really like the color choices. Nice design, Jamie - GMV!
I think the design is going to be way too small to make out if it were printed on a shirt.

Quality original content.. that's what I like to see! ![]()
Re: Spite
I think the thing that I love most about this design is the fact that it just about describes every experience I have ever had cooking.
Re: Spite
I like it though I wouldn't buy. But at least it's a decent design.
Re: Spite
Thanks guys. I'm glad some of you can relate. Although, usually my cooking frustration is caused by burning things. And toaster oven fires.
Re: Spite
Boots, you rock my socks. I was away for the weekend so I missed the earlier version, but I think this one is great. The smugness of the pot seems totally appropriate, and in my opinion better than a mean-looking pot. It's a power struggle between cook and pot and the knowing smile on the winner's face is just priceless. In addition, I think the drawing style and colors compliment your concept very well. Congrats on a great design, hope it stays in the fog and makes it to print.

Re: Spite
I also like the newer version better, a little more playful..
GMV!

what is it that this shirt is trying to say? a watched pot never boils?
choumore wrote:Where is this "new version"? Anyone care to share?
BTW, nice execution!
This is the newer version. You can see the original in the derby thread.
Re: Spite
Needs to be back in the fog! This is what happens when you keep your eye on the shirt you want.
kender42 wrote:Needs to be back in the fog! This is what happens when you keep your eye on the shirt you want.
Ditto. I really hope this one makes it as I definitely plan on buying one if it does! I think this one is better than the others in the fog or close to it, imo.

Thanks, guys. I'm really happy with this one, so I've been hoping a little bit extra that it will print. Though, I do have to say that I love "Here I Come, Warhol!"
Re: Spite
I find this one particularly funny since I live at high altitude and waiting for water to come to a boil is frustrating. And then if you walk away, not only does it boil, but it boils out faster than you expect. So yeah, I know those evil pots are just waiting for me to turn my attention elsewhere. And then they smirk.
mikenytola wrote:This is the newer version. You can see the original in the derby thread.
I like this. alot

Aw, thanks boots. I really hope I fog but not at your expense as I really like yours. Unfortunately I don't think my shirt fits shirt.woot's crowd anymore. Maybe a year ago?

Oh, wooters today and their foolish taste... It's a great design. If it doesn't print here, I'll follow it wherever you take it and vote/support/rate/etc. Don't just let it sit around. I want it very badly.

I think that this is too similar to this
I hope that it doesn't get rejected.

This shirt reminds me in no way of a really awkward looking Nightmare Before Christmas halloween costume.
Re: Spite
My favorite of the fog. Something about the skinny arms on the guy and that smug expression on the pot's face just cracks me up.
GMV.
BootsBoots wrote:Smug pot.
Really well done Boots, but I won't get it for one reason. The little man on the far right is so far over, he's be in my armpit.
Good luck though!
Insondavel wrote:Really well done Boots, but I won't get it for one reason. The little man on the far right is so far over, he's be in my armpit.

Well obviously the little man thinks his situation stinks, so the armpit would be appropriate yes?
I also don't think the guy looks like the Nightmare Before Christmas guy. Some similar features maybe, but it's kind of a stretch. For one thing the guy in the design is obviously alive and well, or why we he be cooking? ![]()

C'mon now. That's not even really trying.
Re: Spite
Whoa, whoa, whoa, why did this unfog? People, c'mon... THIS is out of the fog and Ramyb is still fogged?
Seriously, this design outstrips Ramy's by far. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed a few past Ramy designs (not all, just a few), so this isn't knee-jerk Ramy-hate, but who here REALLY thinks that Ramy's submission for this derby is better than this one?
C'mon.
capedcrusader514 wrote:well boots, I think it's over and out for us. BOO.
Maybe not for you.
Re: Spite
I can't believe this didn't print! It was by far my favorite design for this derby. I patiently waited to see if it would at least get 3rd place...and then Ramyb's design wins. Arrrgh. Right now I look like the person on the T-shirt walking away angrily.
I'm bummed this didn't print.
Great job.
i like this one better than 3rd place.. bummer
Aww! I was really hoping this would print. I think if it hadn't been so close to Halloween, you would've beat out Ramyb's design. Please let me know if you decide to take this elsewhere, because I'd really like to have one!
