If you flip through the pages, you could be flipping the bird... If you learn from the bird you could have bird brains... if you are confused about what you read, you could scramble your egg...

I really like the outline of the book, it looks great on the shirt.

Nice design

I would be interested in seeing one with this same distressed bird, but in a stand-alone speech bubble instead of a book

Thanks mrwednesday! I like the outline too, so happy it was noticed.

Thanks runnerfrog Actually, was my alternate design for this idea. I was so rushed last night I forgot to try it. Should I do it now? Hmmm.

This is along the lines of what I was already thinking of...

What do you think?

What do you think?

Or maybe red... (other colors I was considering - greens, and royal blue)

I prefer the navy over the red.

I don't think the distressing is necessary if you're just doing a speech bubble. It works well as an old book cover, but it just kind of muddles it up otherwise.

If you're insistent on the distressing, I would seek out a less severe texture.

Thanks!
Well... I'm not insistent on distressing, but I don't like the idea of a big circle of solid ink where the speech bubble is, that's why I put so much distressing there. Hmmm....what to do...

I like the navy much better and I like the distressing as well. Without the distressing I think it is too stark and image. The distressing helps to soften it. You could potentially reduce the amount of distressing but if you were to sub an alternate version I'd leave it in.

That said I prefer the book version. It is a little more subtle and I really like the way it looks on the shirt.

Thanks for the feedback mrwednesday. I definitely would want something to break up the speech bubble if I subbed it, I really don't like to wear big blocks of ink. And I do like the book version too. So if I don't get much interest in it, I probably will just leave the book one as the only Bird is the Word submission I think.

This idea crossed my mind, but I couldn't think of how to execute it until I saw yours. Really like it.

Thanks icymallard. I hoped it work like that .. that probably family guy people would get a chuckle, but it's not essential to like or know the show to like or wear it.
