Am I the only one getting a Grenth vibe from this. Looks exactly like Grenth from Guild Wars, down to the horns and the fact Grenth was the dark god of ice. Just feels like Grenth to me

Never played Guild Wars, but I'm getting a WoW vibe from this. There's an armor set for the shaman that looks similar to this. At least, I think it's the shaman set...

But anyhow, excellent design.

face definitely looks like grenth, but i think overall its different enough not to cause any problems. not feeling the palette either, but the illustration itself is very nicely done. did you consider shades of purple/blue instead of green when working on it? i know it wouldn't be as dramatic and high contrast, but i think it would have lent better to the serene feel of the piece.

I love that everyone sees their own experience in the design. In conceptualizing the incarnation of death for this piece I was actually most inspired by the episode of Jim Henson's The Storyteller about Fearnot. At the beginning some dudes put on a furry cloak and have a deer skull on their head and pretend to be a troll or something. As a kid I remember it being really creepy.

ive been playing Guild Wars for 3 years now, pretty cool game , but im not quite getting a Grenth vibe. i mean i can kinda see it, but untill i saw your post, i wouldnt have thought of it. cool design tho :D

Yeah, I'm getting an EverQuest vibe from it actually haha. A lot of the epic weapons would have effects like leaves or skulls or some sort of thing floating around a blade like the skulls in this falling from the scythe.

I know the character in the movie looks a lot different from this antlered one, but for some reason this keeps reminding me of Donnie Darko.

Very cool picture, though it's a little to dark for my taste.

it was a 'warble'.....mr. mcCabe... and don't forget the buttons
