I get that this is a mandala-style pattern, but I really would have liked to see each element separately drawn, rather than copy/pasted around the design.

paigeg, Mandala's style is less concentric (Mandala's stuff doesn't usually use the center as a perspective point, if at all, and it is more oblique), and my prelim sketch didn't satisfy my need for symmetry. I was shooting toward a "perfect world". The spiral clouds are the only thing I didn't "pizza slice". I was going to make them all the same cloud and reduce and copy, but I wanted the viewer to be drawn into the sun, and that didn't work with the identical clouds. Plus, you can imagine funny stuff with the marshmallow clouds. I see a person on a snowmobile in one of them.

paigeg, thanks for taking the time to look at my piece and thinking about it and commenting on it!

To see the clouds as . . . big piles of money? . . . meteorites raining down? . . . scuds? . . . coconut cream pies? . . .

This image makes me both happy and hopeful, it's like laying in the grass and looking up, it's like being a little kid when you were allowed to love the world without worry and to feel happy, this shirt lets us remember what it is like just to enjoy our world, if we all did that more we might take our responsibility to the Earth more seriously.

Lay in the grass everyday!

Hate to be a buzzkill but when I first saw the entire design my first thought was, "Oh no, the polar ice-cap has melted and the sun is melting the remaining icebergs!"

I thought the same thing. It's a lot like laying in the grass and looking up. Very care-free, I like.

Thanks, SnowQueenVT! I appreciate that! It makes me feel the same way. I remember doing just that when I was a little one. (seems like hundreds of years now.)

Tangeloo, think Dysonsphere. Although I must admit the proportions are way way waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off. Oh, and by the way, not a buzzkill at all. I appreciate any comments, criticisms, or concerns of any kind in any form any time. Thanks!

On that note, I guess I should have called that piece "A Beautiful Day IN Earth", eh?

This reminds me of a kaleidoscope, and who doesn't love a kaleidoscope. In fact, this could be called Kaleidoscope Earth...Wish this shirt would win!
