Yeah, after seeing the short it really should be rejected. Also, I'm not sure I'm seeing the theme either.

this looks nothing like the day & night short, it does however use the same concept of being able to see through the night to whats going on in the daylight which pixar didnt create either. so this design is fine as far as that goes, however i do agree that just having a car on a road does not say, "road trip" i think if you focus more on the car driving instead of the turtle and the city then it would be more on theme. either way let woot deal with it =)

also i think to make this design better the clouds in the night time should be a different color or instead of clouds just put stars.
also i think you can lose the moon. good luck! =)

Story : In high school I entered a contest to design a monster. I did a drawing and sent it off- and later that month the Gargoyles cartoon premiered, and my monster looked just like Goliath, (but hairy)! I got a lot of crap for that but my friends knew I had done my drawings before commercials even came out. I still won the contest. Trip to Florida! It was a crazy coincidence!

I don't really know what relationship this has to the Toy Story 3 short, nor do I really care. However, this, as well as your other design, makes me very happy just looking at it. Great job, and I wish you the best of luck.
