The site is LOLmart.com if anyone wants to check it out.
Hey wow, neat! I like the frog one... so cute!
KaylaJ wrote:i don't usually fall for the meme shirts even though I like the original concept, but i gotta admit i like this one simply because its referencing happy cat and not just some unknown looking cat. seriously good job on the eyes and the smile
Thanks KaylaJ! The eyes and the smile are the 2 things I wanted to emulate (and spent ages redrawing over and over to capture that expression), so nice that you noticed.
@insideluke - thank you!
@missiepanda - haha you go on and squish the sabertooth with lurve

Thanks!
@sTyLeS - Right...I wanted the sabertooth to be instantly recognizable as this guy. I loosely referenced the body, and worked harder at making the eyes and mouth look like the original to capture that goofy expression... making the reflections the same, etc was on purpose. I'm guessing the people that like the original cat will like this - (See KaylaJ's response too.)
@albinoapple - yep, yep... one more.
@jtbradford - thanks, so glad you like the art style!
@griftgfx - thanks very much! I thought it would easily work outside the derby too.
@myntzr - oh good:D
KaylaJ wrote:that's what i like about it. even though its a meme shirt, while some people will see it and go oh lolcat, if you know it its not just some unknown cat going i can haz a burger or whatever. simplistically simple
- That's what I was thinking too. thanks KaylaJ!
studio1172 wrote:How did you do the texture? I know, a magician never tells. . . but maybe?
hehe well it's a bit chaotic, but basically I did a sort of textured distress using a method geekfactor12 taught me a while ago using photographs to create textures (Thanks MJ!)... both to take away from colors and to add textured color... all over the place, both in bulk and in drips and drabs. There are so many layers - I spent a great deal of yesterday evening trying to sort them all out and I'm still not done! I think the version with just those textures is still hanging in the pre-derby thread. Lastly I used a brush walmazan generously shared to do the yellow highlighting in the bg, which added some depth. The brush was so great it's inspired me to look up how to make brushes and make some myself, which I'm excited to try (I usually don't draw/ink in photoshop, but I might try now!).
@mjc613 - hmm I'll have to check choo-choo out!
