Re: The Science of Beauty
I had a feeling there would be some "looks like..." comments- but this is an imaginary person simply based on the "ideal proportions for attractiveness" - I guess all the pretty famous ladies must fit this standard to some degree! It should be an interesting "experiment" to see how many likenesses people see! Thanks! :-)

I forget if it's asymmetry or symmetry that's supposed to be the more attractive. Based on this design, I'd guess asymmetry?

Asymmetry is more attractive because it's more real. No one has a symmetrical face in the real world and when we see it in art our minds find that it looks bizarre or alien.
I really like this design. But, for myself, it more sense as a poster than a t-shirt. Hopefully enough people disagree with me. Good Luck!

I believe that the concept states that symmetry is more attractive, but this design (I think) is focusing more on the proportions. I think they are well-displayed here, and this is a very nice drawing.

It's generally thought that the more symmetrical the face the more attractive... to a point. At some point you hit the uncanny valley, where it just becomes creepy and unreal. Everybody has asymmetry to their face, including super models, but theirs is usually much more subtle.
Re: The Science of Beauty
Thanks for the comments! :-)
I was focusing more on proportions then symmetry since asymmetry is more pleasing to the eye (as some comments have already stated very well!)
Apparently these standards for a proportional face are based on the Golden Ratio which is expressed by Phi
so nerdy.... :-)

I used to love the weird science posters in my high school science room! Someone should make a play off of that.... :-)

Oh my - you're probably all to young to have seen this movie. About a plastic surgeon who 'perfects' women with mathematical precision. Of course there's a death, and lots of drama, and he and the pretty girl are on the run... But this concept really reminded me of that. Good movie, for its day.
Re: The Science of Beauty
the rendering and concept are well done, IMO. I also like the placement on the shirt. My only crit would be color choice and shirt color. I wonder if something technical like this might appear better on cream similar to how well the pb&j shirt is doing. Just thought. Keep on rockin'! ![]()

def scarlett johanson, maybe your id designed this shirt
