I don't get the frogs. They are cute but - I just don't get it. Love the leaves though.

I agree. The frogs don't make any sense. Would be just fine with only the leaves.

The joke is that while other green things are changing colors, the frog isn't. He is embarrassed.

This is admittedly a pretty silly idea

I understand now that you explained it.
But it doesn't look like he's embarrassed. It looks a little more like he's going to throw up.

And here I thought it was about camouflage. The first one is happy because he can hide amoung the leaves. The second one is looking for a place to hide amoung the leaves. The third one went to Mary Kay to buy a makeup that would help him hide in the fall leaves, but the chemicals just don't stay on his skin long enough.

Surprisingly, (and I'm not normally a supporter of anime style) putting an anime-style sweat drop near the embarrassed frog's forehad would convey the fact that he is embarrassed, quite handily. Right now, it kindof seems like he's sad or trying to hold his breath and change color... or something?

I do like the design though. You might want to consider doing an extra second sub with a third type of leaf in place of the frogs, or perhaps some pine needles if you want to stay with the theme of one item never changing color?

[EDIT: and by "third" I meant fourth leaf. Or even a sub with the current 3 leaves but no frogs]

I think this would be a little more fun if you had some chameleons on the bottom in place of the frogs, changing colors along with the leaves. I think it would be pretty cute
