They are "secret" menu items. All the locals know to ask for them.

One problem is that Texas isn't really known for their pork bbq. I don't think one Texas bbq place would emphasize their hog over brisket.

This is just pure Frankensteined-upedness. And I mean that in the best way possible. Fabulous work from two fabulous artists. It's some kind of sublime, incestuous perfection going on here ...

Memphis Chainsaw, or Carolina Chainsaw Barbecue just didn't sound as good as Texas.

Not to be a negative nelly, but doesn't this fall foul of "no cannibalism?" Pigs eating pigs still counts as that, and he seems to be salivating at eating the old pork.

Like someone mentioned earlier, Texas is known for its brisket. So no cannibalism here.

There is no cannibalism being pictured here. The pig with the chainsaw isn't eating pork of any kind.

The fact that this is being beaten our by far less creative designs (the cow breakdown idea is well-played out) is sad and expected.

While I'm not a fan of horror movies, I live in Texas and love barbecue, so this works great... Plus I live near the place where the originally filmed the movie.

Re: TEXAS CHAINSAW BBQ
I posted the basic premise of this design in This Thread and Drakxxx suggested that I use the character from Motel Hell in the design. So, I sent him a PM asking if he'd be interested in collaborating on it with me. He agreed and, I was stoked.
I sent a couple of quick thumbs to sort show what kind of design I had in mind.
In no time at all, he sent back the great drawing of the pig character and I went to work on a layout. This was what I initially came up with. I ended up getting slammed with deadlines, so I had to put it on the back burner for a week or so.
He thought the type should be bigger, so I set out to work on it. I got half way through lettering "Texas" and decided I wanted to go a different direction with the layout. I thought about those great roadside billboards in the middle of nowhere, that you see when you're taking a road trip ("peggy sue's 50's syle diner, 10 miles ahead exit 128). I also wanted the "Chainsaw" letters to have a sort of blade-like quality to them and and thought that at least one of the words should have a sort of "chaotic" look to them. So, I trashed what I was working on and came up with this layout.
Drakxxx thought it would be cool to add some splatters and stuff dripping off of the chainsaw. He sent a quick mock-up of what we was visualizing and I incorporated into the coloring. I sent him the final color version and he didn't have any more notes for me. We were both pretty happy with how it came out and thought this derby was a great opportunity to see what the community thought of it.

Now that's just hurtful Paige, I thought we had something special
If it makes you feel any better I don't think it's got enough momentum to print this go around.
Great job on this guys, a little too much blood for my taste but it came together nice. Also I appreciate the work in progress pictures, always nice to see how others bring stuff together. While I'm bummed for Draxxx, he does get stuff printed fairly regularly, poor Odysseyroc though, man can't get a break ![]()

I thought it may be too gory for the voter base here, but I also think it's a pretty kick-ass design. It's always cool to have a chance to work with another artist who you admire.

Crappity crap. Out of the fog. Well, just wanted to pop in to say in today's paper there are TWO BBQ trailers that feature pork:
Bee Caves BBQ "country-style pork ribs, pork loin and Taylor sausage" and Shedd's BBQ Rolling Joint "Sweet and tender Mississippi-style pulled pork sandwiches."
Mmmm...love me some pulled pork sammich. I hope this prints elsewhere! Def in for one!
