Re: Braise Him
Behold, a lamb chop worthy of your everlasting braise. For He is the breakfast, lunch, and dinner forever. Amen.
Rejected because: Nope

Ogres Mangling Freaky Ghouls I see the face of jesus! Oh wait, no...
It's just my reflection off the monitor, I need a hair cut, lol!
Re: Braise Him
While it might not state in the rules, woot doesn't print shirts with religious overtones, even if they are humorous.

Ha! btw I think the dino-shirt turned out well. Good luck!

Re: Braise Him
love the pun, though "braise him" on the shirt would be nice, to spell it out for slow folks like me. gmv til it's rejected though
Re: Braise Him
I LOL'd. Love it!
healsr4f wrote:I know you think its just a playful pun, it actually pretty offensive to any Christian.
Every Christian I've showed this to has laughed and found the humor in it. No one has been offended yet, and trust me, they'd tell me if they were. Honestly I held back a little on the design compared to what I could have done
There are lots of shirts in the derby every week that could be taken as offensive by someone. Should Christians receive special treatment? What if there's someone out there whose family was ravaged by polar bears?
Maybe you should troll the comments of every shirt that seems mildly offensive. There's an idea.

Yeah, there is no way they'd print this, but if they did, I would buy!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm hoping my very first derby submission doesn't bite the dust prematurely.
Would it help if I changed the title to "Delicious meat on an ancient Roman empire execution device"? It's not religious, just morbid. And morbid sells shirts.

It's impossible not to see religious overtones in this. What's amazing is that even though you mock the one who created you and gave his own life for you, He still loves you. Ironically, unless you believe, it is you who will be "braised" forever. There is still time...
Re: Braise Him
Very offensive.

Are you seriously trying to proselytize here? I'm calling Poe's Law on this one.

To you? How so?

People here are offended by a massive range of sill stuff. Look at this shirt Think of the Children
If you look at the comments you'll see people calling it racist and everything else under the sun. There was also some shirt with Abe Lincoln pulling a giraffe out of a hat that people were offended by as well, but I don't have the link for that one.
Moral of the story, debating what is/is not offensive on these forums is pointless. If you find another venue that would print this shirt, let us know. I'll buy it.
Re: Braise Him
Awww man. I would so have bought this one, even though I really dislike that shade of green.
healsr4f wrote:I know you think its just a playful pun, it actually pretty offensive to any Christian.
I agree. Not /every/ Christian will be offended, but ones that value the meaning of the Cross and see an image of raw meat instead of Jesus will be offended.

Now I've offended you. Even?

amen! make a decision.

Because mocking our Creator is wrong.
Not very creative in my opinion. Just slapped on a (not very well drawn) morbid image in an attempt to "sell shirts."
Better luck next time.

healsr4f was not trolling. It was a perfectly legitimate comment. It's interesting that you decided to call them a troll when they were politely expressing their opinion and you were the one being snide. Also, the shirt is more than just mildly offensive.
I'm guessing that if this shirt was making fun of any other religion there would be a lot more negative feedback calling it disrespectful and in poor taste.
Anyone who submits a design that makes fun of a religion, no matter what it is, does not have any right to verbally abuse people who are legitimately offended by it.
i like the shirt & would wear it just because of the offensive nature but thats me. i find it amazing.
timjoestan wrote:To you? How so?
I say good job. If you don't offend someone you didn't do your job. Almost every shirt on this site is offensive to SOMEONE, this one is no different.
I do agree that it would have been better with the words "braise him" though.
