Re: Hamlet: Goth or Emo?

Went with a classic character from Shakespeare and played with a sorta Edward Gorey take. To answer the titles question, I think Hamlet was the Emo kid while Yorick was Goth! *rimshot*
As Hamlet would have said it (in so many words),
"Yeah Yorick! I knew him! He was so Goth, Horatio!"

GMV, like the new color scheme and the work on the fingers looks a lot better now.

I like your final color choices too. Looks good.

I kind of wish you put the fingers around the skull in the back ground, as if it was from his point of view. That may be to complex though.

Also, what music does he listen to? From my understanding, Goth kids are Emo kids that listen to heavier music :P I kid.. I kid.. I love you all.

thanks for the feedback on the fingers in the pre-derby thread. After seeing a number of designs inverting colors I'm glad I was abale to go this route. It feels better.

Yeah. not so much too complex but people would not get the impact of the skull as much if it was angled toward him more.
And to music, lol!

Thanks everyone for the comments and feedback.
I really like how this cam out especially that skull.

Nice crosshatching in the skull work. I enjoy being able to see your original concepts posted in the general derby forum before landing this one. Very suitable colors. Nice work!!

Thanks uniique! I like getting people's feedback and seeing it through other peoples' eyes. helps develop the design. I'm happy how this came out. I am currently working on a King Lear design. Probably will not get votes like this one. Thanks for the support!

I really like the big skull in the background. I think the jury is still out with me on what to think about the elfish looking hamlet.
The skull, however, is top notch.
Maybe I could borrow it to put atop my skeleton. ;)

Yeah I hear ya. People aren't jive on my Ham. But maybe I'll scrap and resub just the skull... who knows.

Would be crazy about this if it was just the skull. Not digging the weird-looking Hamlet, sorry.

I think I shall rework the design dropping Hammy here and just go with the skull and maybe a couple of additions...
