This was a fun collaboration. I don't know how many times we sent the file back and forth, but one of us would tweak something and the other would see something else that would need to be changed.

I love how he kind of looks like Billy Corgan. Both he and Lloyd Dobler get my vote. ;)

Nice work you guys! This is the best of both worlds really, Boots' style and color palette and odysseyroc's talent for lighting and FX.

It has charm and pop. :^)

Wow. This is awesome. I wasn't expecting so much awesomeness from the small image. That blue glow goes really well with that flesh color. I also, like the shadows; it creates ad great composition in my opinion.

Great work you two!

Yes! One of my all time favorite movie quotes. I had this one on my list of potential ideas, but you guys really gave it life. Boots, love your illos. OR, you are the king of lighting. You two should definitely collab more often! +1 and please place so I can give you my money.

It's official, even talented designers cannot make that glow look anything less than awful. 'Bout time we retired it.

Yeah! Insult/thinly veiled compliment! I'll take it!

I love the glow. If the whole design were glowy, it would be too much for me, but I like the contrast of glow and gloom.

honestly, i'm just so sick of collaborations. i know at one point it meant a superb design by two leading designers--now it is merely a ploy used to suck votes away from other potential winners by using the weight of two 'big names'.

Boots and Odysseyroc r in ur woot, stealin ur voetz.

But in all seriousness, that is one of the dumbest sentiments I've seen expressed on woot and that's really saying something.

Yes, Boots, you should be ashamed of yourself. I can tell you simply are using your fame and popularity with odysseyroc to get double epic votes. If you were truly doing this to further your artistic endeavors, she'd be pulling the pen out of a taco. Since that is not happening, I can see this is vote pandering.

tsk, tsk, tsk. I'm shaking my fist at you like an old man.

... end sarcasm... neat collab and nice submission.

Pulling a pen out of her taco? I don't even want to touch that one.

No offense to Odyssey because I do like his work, but has he ever printed at woot? It'd be one thing to accuse Boots if she teamed with say, Ramy (PERISH THE THOUGHT ;) ) but I hardly think Odyssey and Boots collaborating could be accused of vote pandering (nor do I believe you have psychic powers granting you this insight).

No offense taken. I've never printed at woot, I've never even come close to printing at woot. According to shirtwhat, my average is 80.4 votes. Outside of the forum regulars, I don't think I'm very well known, let alone a "leading" artist. Boots and I also collaborated on a halloween design that got something like 25 votes.

The truth is I love coloring and I love working with other artist. So often, we work in isolation and end up sort of doing the same thing over and over. The same color choices, same techniques,or whatever. Collaborating allows you to get feedback and often forces you to try new things or get out of your comfort zone. While we're both happy with the final product here, we kind of forced each other into choices we wouldn't normally have made.

No no, look away, there's nothing to see here. ;)

I stand by it though. That was about 2 years ago. We were young, we were crazy, it was a time of hope and LSD. And I actually think it came out really well.

I did not look away (sorry), But that had more boots' style than Ramy's.

Seriously, Odroc is one of the criminally overlooked artists here. It's still great, If he gets some extra mileage with collabs, that's my opinion tho.
