It could work on light blue, for sure. I didn't want to use too much color tho, mostly just for my own tastes. Really wanted the black to pop and nothing makes black stand out as much as white.

Very cute idea. I think it would go over better if it were on blue...at first glimpse it looks the sea urchins are on ice, not underwater... change the colors and I'd want one!

LOOOVE this so much, Jewelwing! I love hedgies, and you've drawn the little one so cute here! Also a great, smart concept. I like your uses of pastel colors that aren't overly 'eastery'. You are the queen of pretty colors. +1!

Since holding hedgehogs in New Zealand I have a soft spot for these little guys. This is a sweet design jewelwing. Great linework, textures and color choice really distinguish this design for me.

Aaah! Must. Have! I love hedgehogs and this is so unbelievably cute! I love it. :D
GMV and I'm really hoping this wins, it's adorable.
As an interesting fact, 'urchin' is actually an old word for a hedgehog, so 'sea urchin' literally means 'sea hedgehog'. He's got more in common with his little spiky friends than he realises!
Hoping this gets back in the fog...I, for one, like the choice of white, even though I'm not a huge fan of white shirts, because, as you said, it really makes the black 'pop'. The hedgehog's expression is wonderful. Heck, everything about this shirt is wonderful. :D

I agree! This is a beautifully executed concept. Unique, cute (but not too cutesy), and very well drawn.
