"Music Never Dies"

From the ashes of records, 45s, 8-tracks, cassettes rises new music media. Like the phoenix, music never dies it just changes format. I also thought the phoenix was a good symbol because its cry is a beautiful song. =D

Best use of a phoenix since The Original Recycler. I don't know what it is about those musical notes, but they simply look fantastic. Needless to say, hope to see this in the fog posthaste.

Awww thanks. I added both the treble and bass clefs into the image late in the coloring. Originally they weren't there but I thought it'd be neat to include them.

An excellent concept for this derby! I will make sure I snag this one if it wins, (which I hope it does!)

An obvious +1

It's on fire!!! LOL, burning up the dance floor! Really burning it... I did have the records shattering apart at first and then I came to my senses and made them melting

Wow, that is cool! The way you did the fire around the music media reminds me of comics in the early nineties.

Re: Music Never Dies

Are you burning Stravinsky's "Firebird?" Because that would be sad.

If this prints, I'll "aunt-gift" this to my sister. That is, because I know she likes phoenices, I get the shirt for her.

HA HA HA, I didn't realize that until you pointed it out. I started reading superhero comics in the late 80s to the early 90's so I totally know what you're talking about. I guess those comics were more influential then I gave them credit for.

Ooohhhhh c'mon! Why's it always treble clef?! I play bass, and as such, cannot vote for this shirt. :P

The phoenix itself has the bass clefs for it's tall and head plumage... if that helps. =D Sorry that part got a little hidden but I did include it.

No no, it's totally understandable. The treble clef is much more noticeable. I probably was a little too subtle with the bass clef. Aww, thanks for the vote.

This shirt is so beautiful and mesmerizing... I found myself staring at it for about half an hour before I remembered to scroll down and comment. There's just so much to it. The colors are great, shading is prime, concept is amazing, and it has fire... I like fire. It's like a blend of everything awesome. I really hope this makes production! Until then hopefully I can stop staring at... mmmm... fire

Now 100% chock full of little wind-up robots!

Re: Music Never Dies

@krastofer - Aw thanks so much for the vote! Formats always rise and fall so I thought the phoenix was a good symbol of the changing nature of storage.

@joemail11 - Shirts do make great presents. =D Crosses fingers.

@be10der2me, shaunesay, megsck, megadog, zwartepaard, mdcushman75, Drakxxx, tcgriffin - Woooo, I'm glad you like it. Thanks so much!

@palookaboy - I can see why, they are a lot of fun to draw. But it's a good change of pace from all the cute animals I normally draw.

@icymallard - heheheheh.

@partimejudas - Aww thanks. I always have difficulty with certain effects. I had to restart here and there with the coloring but I'm glad it came together in the end. Stare at it all you want. =D Fire!

Thanks so much everyone for the comments and votes!

Re: Music Never Dies

This will surely be taking 1st place tomorrow. Not because it's a phoenix, but because there's a strong concept there and some very creative extra visual ideas too.

Gotta be a winner. :^)
