I was literally about to post that I was surprised no one was doing this, but I couldn't think of how it could be done. Nice job.

Although, is it obvious enough that it's Jack and not Mario?

This is something I might actually wear! But if I had tried this I might have stuck a "?" box at the top with a goose on it instead of a "?"

Interesting way to work mario in here. About the design, the sky part and the ground part look dissimilar, because the castle/clouds/etc are pixel-ized, but the house & ground lines at the bottom don't have any of that same pixel style to them. The diagonals are too smooth.

Took me a second to get that it was Jack. Maybe adding a pixel harp or pixel golden egg somewhere could help? Like at the top of the beanstalk or as if he was carrying it down with him?

And just a random idea, this might work well on a sky-blue shirt, where you don't need to print the background color... you could put the beanstalk going up the right side, endless, and not even worry about the house, etc at the bottom, add a golden harp/egg/something and voila.

Funny idea, except for the boxed-in feel. Resub this on blue, it'll do much better.

Re: Jack and the 8-Bit Beanstalk

While I love the concept I

- wouldn't think "Jack and the Beanstalk" if I saw someone wearing it, while walking down the street; I'd think Mario.

-rarely enjoy a shirt that has a graphic that takes the entire area of the shirt. For one, it can speak of a lack of interesting composition, which I feel here. Two, having a graphic so big on a shirt means alot of ink on that shirt, and the shirt won't move or breathe well, so the function of the shirt becomes compromised.

Try a different take on this, where the stalk is up the side, clouds and castle up top, and just have it pop from the shirt, with no background. Also, do something that makes us think "Jack", not "Mario". I think you'll have a sleek design that'll get many votes!

Wow guys! Thanks for the awesome feedback! I had originally tried the shirt on baby blue and hadn't liked it but maybe it will look better on royal blue. I'll submit a version 2, hopefully by Saturday afternoon and try to incorporate some of your ideas. Please stop by and vote again!
