One color on black.

I love classic gaming, so I figured this one was right up my alley. I used a combination of MS Paint and Adobe Photoshop CS4. I haven't entered the derby in a while, so here goes!

Maybe you need to do more "Daily Life," Cuz I don't know when the last time I came across a grue.

8-bit graphics about daily life...

Shoot, I guess I misunderstood the derby. Oh well, I'll try again next time.

This derby was actually pretty hard to stay in-theme and still interesting. Many are easier. The pre-derby thread can be a good place to get clarifications and see what other people think the theme means.

A good rule of thumb for avoiding the Rejectionator, past "don't trace," is to keep cultural references indirect. A wad of cheese in a headband gets through. An actual ninja turtle doesn't. "Which cup do you want to poison?" gets through. A word-for-word quote doesn't.

Reinterpret, don't repeat.

That one was a daily. Dailies have different rules than derbies (see various Star Wars, Zombie Mario, etc.)

I have a shirt catalog, y'all!

IF this had made it I would have bought at least 2. One for myself and another for a friend who I know would love it. He has had that phrase on his website for years. So please make a derby where this shirt would be on topic. ;-)
