"Cute Has A Flavor"

Just an old spin on a loony toons joke, as told with common kitchen spices!

If you are going to do a pop culture reference it's a least nice to see something a little more obscure like an old Looney Tunes joke instead of the usual glut of mario/zelda/starwars

Your bunnies and ducks remind me of Peeps, I'll bet this would be fitting for Easter as well!

Sweet tee, Diana! The tiny duck and rabbit blobules capture the Daffy and Bugs feel very nicely.

Re: Cute Has A Flavor

I *love* this! I was just thinking about this classic argument like a week ago. Very clever and well-drawn!

I must say that the text on the RABBIT SEASONING label bothers me. I really enjoy the uniformity of the fonts between the two shakers, except having the R and the T extend all the way down breaks that aesthetic! I think it would be best if either both the labels had extending letters (I know the D of DUCK cannot possibly do that, but technically the K could) or neither did. In this case, especially since the D cannot extend, I'd say neither is best!

But anyways -- this is AWESOME and I will buy it if it prints. GMV Good luck!

I tend to agree, the R and the T bother me a bit. Even though it's pretty and on a real label would probably do something like that, it does make the word "seasoning" harder to read, especially on a shirt where you want quick recognition rather than puzzled long stares at your chest area. I second Ritaroobias' suggestion to make it match Duck and shorten the R and T.

I must have missed that particular cartoon. I thought this was a commentary on the design process of certain wooters...ahem.

Oooooh I get it! lololol! No, your design is very funny and readable, I'm just a little slow right now.

I like to imagine that the duck seasoning makes quacking sounds when you sprinkle it... what would the rabbit seasoning sound like?

I have a friend with a framed print of this. Could it have been your work? Same color and everything. Though I have to say, every time I look at the print I think it would be good on woot.

There's an extra layer to this joke when you factor in the artist's name.

Oh yes, that's also me. One of the first derbies I tried making art for was the "Cooking" derby. I came up with the idea right before that derby ended and didn't finish it until a week later because of all the tiny animals. That early version of this idea is the one your friend has. It was also 8 colors, which doesn't work on woot(and it had text which wasn't allowed for the "Cooking" derby either).

I was really happy when they announced this derby because it let me revisit the idea and completely redo and update it. =D

I totally agree about the less than obvious reference. I really hate when people have to put so many words on their shirt to explain the humor behind it. This is perfect!

Now I feel kinda dumb. I looked at this shirt and immediately got the cartoon reference. But I didn't even catch that the duck seasoning is black like pepper and the rabbit white like salt. That just made it that much cooler to me. I too will now always see ducks and rabbits while using salt and pepper.

I really really love the pun/reference here! I remember watching looney toons when I was little. =)

I don't always buy the shirts I vote for, but when I do it'll be this one that takes $10 off my hands.

I once heard a rabbit squeal like a guinea pig. Not only did it shock the crap out of me but it makes me giggle every time I see a bunny. I would assume they'd be making this noise.
