The initial painting was the easy part. Doing the halftones was the Queen Bee of royal pains and I still don't know if they're acceptable. A lot of what I was trying to convey got 'solid'd up when I was working on this, but I hope it still reads all right. I like peacocks.

Re: Majesty
I wouldn't think to put green and red together like this, but it's very striking along with the ink work.
Great tee! +1

Re: Majesty
Nearly every design I'm seeing is kind of unfriendly to us masculine types. This being no exception.
It's nice, but I couldn't wear it.

But peacocks are manbirds. :C

This is beautiful, but I've gotta second the comment on the lack of masculinity.

If you're comfortable in your own skin, you project your own masculinity. Its all in confidence. If you project enough of it, other less confident men will follow you. For God sakes, look at skinny jeans. Tell me those are even remotley masculine...
Btw, nice shirt. I'm not a big fan of peacocks, but the artistic representation in your design is amazing. If it prints I will certainly buy one and I'm sure both men and women will ask me where I got it.

I'm not trying to stir up trouble, but, look at a majority of the shirts on this site. Most of the shirts on the Reckoning are unabashedly cute. Are those designs similarly unfriendly to masculine types? If you can't wear this peacock, can you wear beady-eyed penguins and turtles and kitties? (which are typically a dominant feature of the Reckoning and/or derbies.) Just like this beautiful entry, most of them are witty and fun, while also being cutesy in some manner.
In their cases, and case of this peacock submission, and others on this derby, you have to ask yourself if the value of the art in question is more important than 'Will people think I look like a ladyman for wearing this?'.

This is such a beautiful shirt! The design is exquisite, delicate and wonderfully balanced.
I just wish that the background didn't form such a ... square. Perhaps the example shirt makes it appear to be more blocky than it is?

The top left and bottom right sections are meant to be a bit more sweeping, so it might be the template shirt. Or my own lack of experience in these things. ;D Thanks!

Re: Majesty
gah! i NEED this shirt for my sister. she loves peacocks. i showed it to her today and had to explain that i couldn't buy it right now because i don't know if it's going to be printed (she didn't know what it meant that the design was in the derby).
let's vote on this one some more, everybody! i'd be in for 2 if we could push it into the top three!
