Hello and welcome to woot! Reading the shirt.woot FAQ is a great way to learn about how the derby--and the site at large--works.

I...LOVE...this design. I'd laugh, I'd cry, I'd kiss twelve bucks goodbye...

This one is so awesome I'd even buy it on an Anvil blank

I have a question: How does this not infringe on a million copyright issues? Not to take anything away from the design, it's very well done and funny too, but I've seen way more ambiguous things get rejected for infringement.

As someone who submits here, I'd just like the understand how it all works.

I'm glad you asked! Thanks for being nice and not snarky!
Parody is usually defined as something that trivializes or makes light of an idea, which this does. I've made light of the fact that Luke totally kissed his sister, and he's being confronted with that mistake after learning their true relationship! Gross!
I like to point people in the direction of MAD magazine if they're unclear exactly where the line is regarding parody. They've been in print for decades, so it's an excellent training ground.
Also worth noting: parody is protected as free speech by the first amendment of the constitution, in spite of what some people may tell you.
Another awesome resource, though it's more about IP and inspiration: everythingisaremix.info
