Re: Where the Sidwalk Ends

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

- Shel Silverstein

I tried to ramp mine up a bit but your colors look really nice together.

Thanks! Yours came out really nice! I was having trouble with the "crimson sun" part. You came up with a nice solution to that.

I love this! Not crazy about the arrow, but otherwise just lovely

Beautiful, made me cry. I sooo want to go where the sidewalk ends. From now on, I'm looking for the arrow in everything I do and wherever I go.

Sidwalk ends? Is it where Sid stops walking? Good concept, bad spelling.

It's the British spelling of sidewalk.

I am sad this didn't get an HM. Are you thinking of printing it anywhere else?

I may try. I sort of feel like this wouldn't work well without a derby theme behind it.
