12 hours into the derby is still plenty early! Although many artists seem to be able to do it, it's an unrealistic expectation to think everyone needs to be camping out 'til Friday at noon with a finished design to submit. (I was on vacation this week so I was actually able to submit early, and it didn't help all that much.) A really good design should do well as long as it goes up sometime during the weekend.
