This design touches me so...children are the same the universe over (and I love your celestial matter!).

I like the changes a lot! Although, I did like the human kid looking back, but I guess we can imply that half of the story...

I really liked the first concept, and I miss the kid....but...you did such an amazing work.... I wasn't around here when you started, but that shows so much progress!:D Hope it gets into the fog!:D

Thanks, wirdou and amreli. I had to leave the kid out because most of the feedback I got on the old design was that the rectangular shapes were "weird". I found that the composition wasn't working when I tried to have both figures in the new design. I went with the alien and earth because, as amreli said, the human kid is implied by the earth being there.

I'm happy with this design, though it would be nice to get up there in the fog. I enjoyed making this one either way.

Sure, I understand what you mean, the composition is so much better now and we can infer the rest of the story It's in the fog!! now it's time to climb to the top3!:D

The composition is definitely better on this one, I agree. Oooh, what would be really cool would be to have the human kid image on the back (with the alien on the front)...I know you can't submit that for the derby, if it doesn't print (though I sincerely hope it does!) maybe it can be a daily sub....

That WOULD be cool I wonder if having the human kid on the front and the alien on the back would also be good. You'd look at the shirt and be like "aww that's cute" then you'd see the back and be like "oooh I see what u did there."

I think this design captures the curiosity in us all... everywhere. Cute and Playful design!

I really like the changes you made (: I think the halftoned background makes the biggest difference. It fills the design in without being overly distracting. Great work.

I agree that the second version is much better. It works better without the kid and it's a better composition. It also leaves more to the imagination.

Yes, one of its strengths is that it leaves more to imagine.

i love it, looks much better on a shirt than the original design!

I would choose this one over your first entry. The boxes confining both youngster and alien does throw off the design as a whole. Having no "bounderies" in this one lends itself to the vastness of the universe much better and conveys the question "are we alone" wonderfully.
