I forgot the description isn't the first comment here..

"oh nothing, just a beautiful butterfly, come in and take a closer look"... SAID THE SPIDER!

I am torn... On the one hand, spiders (even in images) freak me out. On the other, a beautiful butterfly. Excellent job.

You sir, have somehow found a way to get me to want to wear a shirt with a butterfly on it.

Dark and beautiful, love it!

Ah man, I love this. The pattern on the wood is seriously the coolest. Love the web-wings too! Great execution, gmv.

It's been great reading people that don't like spiders or butterflies are enjoying this. Thanks for the feedback.

Me personally I would never wear this, but both the idea and execution are brilliant. Well done. You have my vote.

I am the complete opposite! I love spiders so much, and could just watch them do their thing for hours. I used to have a 'pet' black widow (not officially, it just lived in the crack between the door frame and the wall at this pit I lived in while in college) that I named Molina (until my roommate got wasted one night and squashed it).

However, I would not be caught dead wearing a shirt with a butterfly on it... except for this one.

I love the concept and the execution is gorgeous.

I got over my hatred of all things butterfly print (even though I love them in real life) and voted for this one. Might get my boyfriend to log in and vote for it as well!

Great story, thanks for sharing. I can't imagine letting a black widow hang out freely, but I do find spiders fascinating. Appreciate the vote!

Black widows are venomous, but their bite isn't too bad and is unlikely to kill you. They're actually incredibly shy/recessive little things, and tend to hide or run away when 'confronted.' Last weekend I was unpacking some boxes of books, reached in and grabbed one and accidentally grabbed a black widow in the process. I squealed because it was unexpected, and the poor thing ran and hid behind another book, and then curled up in the corner of the box, unmoving, even after I took it outside to throw it out in the yard. I swear I shortened that thing's life just by scaring the bajeezus out of it.

It was super cute!

Also, if you don't know, jumping spiders are about the cutest thing on eight legs. I wish I could hug their furry little faces without killing them.

Just wanted to say thanks, forgot to before, but these types of comments always make me happy. I never used to, but now I always try to put aside my own preferences at these voting sites and vote for things that would make great tees, whether I would wear them or not. Glad other people do too.

This would make for an awesome tattoo, by the way. In fact, I'm thinking of showing it to my artist and ask her if she is interested in doing something that approximates it. If you don't mind, of course.

I'd be honored. Just make sure she knows its not a design she could reuse for other people. If it were to win the derby woot would have full rights to it, so I wouldn't have any say in the matter.

Spiders are cool but while a black widow spider’s bite won't kill you, you may wish you were dead from the pain its venom will bring you while you lie in the hospital tossing, turning, and screaming.
