Re: Viking Crest
I recognize the runes for Mjollnir, and Viking is fairly obvious, but I can't make out what they say/mean to say under the ravens and on the axe... A little help?
+1 GMV, for sure.

Yeah I left the viking in English characters just stylized to look like runes so anyone could read it. Anyway it says raid on the left and pillage on the right. The axe just looked plain when it was blank and didn't have space for more than 3 characters so it literally just says axe though I spelled it "aks" because Elder Futhark has no x rune.

Not sure why you didn't just name hugin and munin

Not sure why you didn't just name hugin and munin there since few can read it anyway.
I dig the deign but had to sneer a bit when I saw the horns. You know what I mean. Still, any design with a Norse look is going to get my attention and praise.
Damnit! Posting on my phone I'd a disaster!

I thought about putting Hugin and Munin, but then I also thought about removing Mjolnir's name from it just for not wanting to necessarily only directly reference Thor and Odin without the rest of the gods which I didn't really have space or time for. As to the horns, I know they aren't proper but they look cool and since having a design look good is more important than being historically accurate when you are trying to appeal to people who aren't necessarily history buffs so I went with them. It's really nice to see comments showing that people know their stuff though ![]()

Yes but I also notice a distinct lack of lolcats or perhaps you could have put a Zelda in there... or like, you know, a cutie-pie pokemon.. :P

Lol yeah, seems that's a quick way to gather up some votes from a wide demographic, I like coming up with an original design first though, much more proud of my original content.

I couldn't agree more.

A little mistletoe might have looked good and tied in Balder and Hoder...

And technically Loki, but then again, he's only technically one of the Aesir (AEsir) anyway.
And I like the horns too, even if they aren't historically accurate. Most viking-themed shirts I've seen feature horns too anyway. Since it looks like this probably won't print, once it's free, I would love to buy this design (preferably on a shirt), but perhaps with Huginn and Muninn on the ravens, and maybe no horns on the helmet.

Yeah I see some people saying they'll do runs of their shirts that don't make it but I'm new to the shirt designing scene, could you recommend any places to look into to get shirts printed once woot's claim period is up?
