ZOMG, Mars is made of bacon!

(sorry--I really like the shirt, but Mars looks very bacony. Still gets my vote.)

I hate to be that guy, but I REALLY don't see this fitting the theme. I think you wanted to make a curiosity shirt and shoehorned it in...

Cute design though... Woot dropped the ball on not making a MARS derby the last three weeks...

Hi there! I see you just made your account today and this is your first post. Welcome to woot! Since you're new, you probably aren't used to derbies and themes so let me explain my thinking. My first wish was to go to the moon. That didn't happen. My second wish was to ride in the space shuttle. That didn't happen. My third wish was to explore Mars. That didn't happen either. Oh well. A girl can keep dreaming! This design was inspired by my fascination with space and NASA. I'm thrilled people are enjoying it! Thanks for the votes and encouraging words!

No offense but your words would hold a lot more weight if you provided criticism from your actual account.

You're saying you are an artist in this derby and you made a fake account just to criticize my entry? I wish you the best of luck with your entry. I'd love to know which one it is because if I like it, I would vote for it. You would gain more respect for stating your opinion as yourself instead of hiding behind a fake account. As you know, woot is full of opinions. We're all adults. We can handle constructive criticism.

Very Cool design and very fitting for what is currently going on in our world today! This is probably in every kids top ten wish list these days! Think we're all more enthused and excited about space after watching the landing of Curiosity on Mars! Great layout,tight color scheme, and clean rendering! Nicely Done! P.S. If you hadn't done this design...I would have! lol Good luck!

I kinda agree with the bacon thing. Mars doesn't have stripes and this kinda makes it look like a gas giant.

I also don't really see a wish here either, but in her defense just about everybody in this derby is off theme. The theme itself is kinda odd that way. All everybody did was draw something they would personally wish for.

A true critic might blame the artists en masse for not being more creative, but meh.. I don't know how I'd think of something for this either.

I am glad to see Mars and Curiosity on a shirt though and I love the rover and the slogan.

I don't see the theme. If there were a person riding on top of the Curiosity, I'd believe it. As it is though, it's just a Curiosity shirt.

I really like the shirt, but I also don't see the theme when I look at it.

I disagree. As I explained earlier, I designed this with the theme in mind. A literal interpretation of the theme doesn't always make for a wearable shirt. My third wish was to visit Mars. This design is about visiting Mars as I envision it in my head. I believe this is on theme.

Great idea and shirt! Have to agree with the bacon criticism, when showing it to my husband he thought it was a bacon planet. Though some may wish for a planet of bacon it detracts from the curiosity and Mars theme. Any chance of subbing with a non-bacon Mars?

I showed it to my husband too and he doesn't see bacon. I don't either and I'm trying because a bacon planet would be fantastic! It would go perfect with the cheese moon! :P I drew the rusty sands of Mars and honestly, everyone I have shown it to sees the same thing. You guys have bacon on your minds!

I understand. However, the shirt doesn't convey that at all. Any independent observer would only see a mars/curiosity fan shirt.

If you reject this you'd have to reject a ton of other shirts for the same reason. Woot's not that bloodthirstsy when so many of the artists goof the theme up.

Oh, I totally agree. There's no way Woot will reject. I was just giving my opinion. I didn't report it, or anything. It's not as if the artist purposefully ignored the rules.

Keeping my hopes up for this one, I definitely want it. Great work on the design.
