That smiley face looks really similar to "The Watchmen" one, was that intentional? Especially since the comedian was the one who died wearing that smiley face. I'd like it a lot more if it was clearly a "Watchmen" reference; or clearly not if this tomato splatter similarity was just coincidence.

It's clearly a Watchmen reference. Comedian is *dying* on stage. I think it's pretty clever and like it.

@claranorth, it's a play on a comedian dying on stage, and the way the comedian dies in the opening pages of Watchmen. Sorry that's not clearer. :^)

I just looked into this Comedian business, and realized that this is quite clever. I guess not enough people are familiar with The Watchmen, including me. This definitely has an audience on one of the other daily sites though.
This should have more votes... Maybe there are not so many Watchmen fans in here and that's the reason. But I'm one fan!! Awesome work. And technically brillant
