Re-Submitted with a color adjustment. Somewhere in the process, things got a little too....teal, and it didn't match the official color anymore.

Now that it's fixed, I like it better with the darker blue. Thanks Mavyn for letting me know!

My Brother-in-Law has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. We loved being able to say "He *is* a rocket scientist!"

Sadly, he doesn't work in his field anymore, there was more money in computer programming.

My inspiration was mostly the covers from all the 1950s and 1960s pulp SF I read. If they show landed rockets, they are typically sitting on their tail-fins, on an empty plain. The mountains were a way of addressing the horizon-line without leaving it a boring line.

Together, it looks like I did manage to create a highly stylized image of WSMR. Thank you for mentioning it, I just learned something nifty today!

Thank you! As I mentioned in an earlier reply, my love comes from all the old SF I grew up reading. But being a child of the 60's & 70's the space race, and especially the shuttle program, was a big deal in my life.

I love this design! It brings me the feel of the early SF serials and has a modern message too. I so want this on a shirt! :D

This is a design I'd rather hang on the wall. Maybe I'll just nail a coat hanger to the drywall if it wins.

Heh! Thanks for the compliment! They do make display frames specifically for hanging t-shirts. I bet that woot could make a bundle selling them as an accessory.
