Re: Impossibly Delicious

I had the exact same idea, but decided to go with bacon instead very nicely done!

But that means the frosting just ends partway. It breaks the 'single sided object' rule by having a top to be frosted and a bottom left unfrosted.

My speech is not parsing. I am speaking in ellipsis.

I don't think it's supposed to be a mobius strip. Looks more like it's supposed to be an impossible triangle.

Re: Impossibly Delicious

Edit: thanks to the posters who responded to my concern that this was "too similar" to another design by pointing out that this is the donut from The Simpsons, explaining the similar colors to another design.

Ah, yes. A donut penrose triangle, my bad.

Is it wrong that I'm kinda sad that it's NOT a möbius donut?

If I'm to keep buying shirts, I need MXS! Please add my size!

Very nice Mobius donut. My wife would love it. I'm just a dumb ol' business admin (finance) guy, but she has a degree in Math. 1 "B" in her entire educational career, and that's because she missed work while on a mission trip!

She delighted in telling me about the Mobius strip, and I'll admit, it's pretty interesting. The donut makes me think of the time she tried to explain topology to me, and told me that coffee mugs and donuts were topologically congruent!

The donut is the classic Simpsons donut:

Yes, standard Simpsons coloring, as also seen on this design.

Thank you both! I've never seen The Simpsons and missed the reference entirely, but it certainly explains why the coloring and design of the donut are reminiscent of other donut designs! I've edited my original comment.

Gasp! Never seen the Simpsons? EVER?! I'm tempted to just start firing off Simpsons quotes right now... but I'll put forth every attempt to keep this thread on-topic...

No, you're right. It's a Moebius strip, but the frosting cheats and twists around to appear frosted on one "side" only. Clever, actually, if it was indeed intentional. It's almost like a Moebius strip on a Moebius strip.
