Re: The Catchers
This is so rad- I hope it doesn't get canned... I have never seen anything remotely resembling a poke'ball withstand the rejectionator...

Re: The Catchers
Buh, seeing "ad" used in "got to" here causes me great pain.

orabbit wrote:I know. Patrick, if you're going to use fake Latin, fine, but mixing the two is grating. You should have used the imperative form - cape, or substitute carpo, with its very well known imperative form - carpe. Carpe omnem would have worked nicely.
I think an infinitive would work better. Necessitas capere omnem (capere as in "to capture", not carpere as in "to pluck").
I'd be all over that, then.
By the way, don't take me as some nit-picky dead language nerd. I'm just some scrub who took Latin in high school, but even knowing as little as I do it's painfully obvious that this was thrown into an online translator and you just rolled with it. The word "ad" in particular jumps out because it's a preposition with a bunch of different uses (modifying a verb in this way not being one of them).
tl;dr please fix it cuz I'm a dorky 90s kid who took Latin and I want it ._.
Re: The Catchers
I agree. Please resub with corrected Latin. I looooovvvvveeeee this design, but I couldn't make myself buy/wear it with the faux-Latin.

I'm struggling to get that point across. It's basically the Latin version of El Bloombito.
Re: The Catchers
I absolutely LOVE the look of this, but I agree with the others. As some one who is super picky about the shirts she wears, I would only make this my first woot purchase (because nothing on here has ever interested me as much as this) if the Latin were fixed. Yes, the "Got" is a cute nod to the original phrase but its not even used effectively within the grammar. There are enough language nerds running around the internet - aside from the ones who have already commented - that you can get help on crafting a better phrase.
Re: The Catchers
I am by no means a poke-fan but this is incredibly well done and eye catching.... no pun intended. Really.
Re: The Catchers
Awesome!
Re: The Catchers
Wish there was a proper Latin resub to vote on, but in lieu... GMV—Semper ubi sub ubi!
