I have no idea if they have rejected music notes on these grounds in the past, but I do know they've been allowed before.

It seems to also depend on the artist. Some are allowed to break the rules while others are rejected. Woot is pretty wishy-washy when it comes to enforcing their own rules.

I've seen shirts rejected for hieroglyphics in a no text derby.

In derbies where the rules state 'no text', this means that any symbol, letter, or number is prohibited. This applies to any key on the keyboard, foreign language script, dollar signs, exclamation points, 'at' symbols, etc.
