Re: Periodic Table of Scientists

Lemme tell ya, it was not easy coming up with so many scientists to fit with the elemental abbreviations. Sorry if I missed your favorite!

Also, the preview image is blurry for some reason, so here are some closeups:

EDIT: Fixed the second pic. Thanks to dicktaid and highvolt82 for the help!

And I will fix some things, like the typo in oppenheimer, before submitting a print ready file...

You have Coulomb on there twice (for C and Cl).

Now here is a design that you can clearly see the thought process behind it. You gotta appreciate an entry that not only sticks to the topic but also teaches you something. Well done!

Thanks so much for the hard work. I'm a scientist and already I hope this wins so I can wear it.

This is crazy- Solid list man. Wish Hawking & Sagan coulda made it but you are stuck with whats there.

Re: Periodic Table of Scientists

Finally a science shirt that has more than just a cat in a box. I'm tired of shirts like those that make people feel clever, when they don't realize Schrödinger was so much more than a guy with a story about a cat. I really hope this gets chosen.

@carladiaz78 - Thanks a lot! I hope that anyone who sees this decides to look up some of the lesser known folks in the design. I sure learned a lot by doing this

@jayne5 - I'm glad you enjoy it and I hope you get to wear it too ^_^

@oakenspirit - Let me tell you how embarrassed I am that I didn't put Hawking on the list. Hawking! And he would have fit perfectly for Hydrogen! As for Sagan, I had him at one point but scratched him to move him elsewhere...and then somehow he got lost.

@malkaviankitten7 - Thanks!

@skyf0x - I'm glad you like it. Poor schrodinger definitely gets a bum rap. The internet remembers him more for his cat than for basically inventing quantum theory, although at least it helps people know who he is.

Sagan gone is fine, as it would be hard to replace Sanger, which seems a better fit... and no worries about Hawking- it's impossible to make a perfect list when you are working in such a box- I think what you ended up with perfectly solid.

Incredible job!!!! Really nails the theme of "Scientists," is educational, and looks great on the shirt. GMV!

Re: Periodic Table of Scientists

Leonardo Da Vinci has no last name, his name is simply Leonardo. Da vinci simply means that he is from Vinci.

So he should not be under a "V"
but rather an "L"
Try instead using Andreas Vesalius, he did work on Anatomy. Also Nobel appears twice as 41, and 102. Leonardo could become 102.

Thanks for pointing out the Nobel error. Element 41 is actually meant to say "nobili" instead of "nobel" but I misread my chicken scratch after coming up with the list. When I fixed the oppenheimer misspelling and the coulomb repeat I forgot to repost an image showing the nobili change.

As for da vinci, yes, I admit you are technically correct. Da Vinci isn't Leonardo's surname. But in common usage he's called "da vinci" all the time, so I went with that.
