This is the post my wife wrote on it back in the "Summer into Fall" derby:

Many have requested that the text that appears in my design be posted. This is just a simple short story that I came up with after designing the trees. I think that the back story added interest as well as visual appeal. See the text below:

The history of the dancing trees is a magnificent tale. Forrest Nymphs cursed to pose forever in a single stance because of their trickery on the Kings favorite Knights. Luring men from their missions of rescue, the temptresses would sway the minds of even the strongest men, keeping them from their saving quest for their own amusement. Upon discovering their wicked and evil actions, the nymphs, known for their beauty and gracefulness were cursed and in a single moment all the beauties were frozen in their last known pose. Doomed forever to hold their position, their musical cries are only heard when their faithful friend the Wind caresses them, allowing their leafs to ruffle and their masked cries of torment to be heard. Only the most connected of souls hear their cry. Campers have been reported to hear moans and women’s cries in the dark night. These beauties will never again hinder the rescue of innocent lives as they are frozen in their most graceful, elegant and alluring poses.
