You know, the funny thing about advancing is that you forget the stuff in the past. Take our old friend the C:\ prompt here. We all remember it. We all remember it fondly. We used to see it all the time, didn’t we? We knew how to DIR /P and switch to A:\ at will, we knew how to edit our AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS when we switched between games, and probably a huge chunk of us still get nostalgic at the very sight of C:\BARDS_TALE.
We’re the first generation, really, to have fully immersed ourselves in these wonderful machines. Our parents struggled with the VCR, but we could instantly CD, or ECHO, or maybe even NETSTAT if we were among the lucky few. How many of us lived in fear of mixing up FORMAT B: with FORMAT C:? How many of us wondered if UNDELETE would bail us out if that mistake ever happened?
And now look at us. We’re having to go find an online manual just to write about a t-shirt, and we’re typing commands with our caps lock on just so they’ll look old-timey. You might even be reading this on a phone that can out-perform your very first desktop computer. We’ve come so far together, nerddom. We’ve come so very, very far.
Wear this shirt: around George Lucas. And maybe while saying BOY IT SURE WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO RELEASE THE ORIGINAL X-WING GAME ON PORTABLE DEVICES, WOULDN’T IT? In fact, if you can provide proof that you’re able to do that, we might send you a free shirt.
Don’t wear this shirt: while playing around with a Commodore 64. It’s a little different.
This shirt tells the world: “God never closes a door without opening up Windows.”
We call this color: COLOR 07. By which we mean, the background is Black.

Top Comments are discussion forum posts we have deemed worthy of your time. Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk. We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
