I've never seen anything like it. We were just there in our boat, watching the storm clouds get darker and the sea get choppier when all of the sudden, an octopus shoots up out of the sea! And I mean really shoots. It's soaring, up, up into the sky, and it looks like it's going to make it, like it's going to pierce the clouds.
Then out of nowhere, ZAP! A lightning bolt strikes down, through the octopus, burning it to a crisp instantly. I swear, it hung in the air for a second before making it's descent. The waves calmed and the thunder stopped just long enough for us to hear the sad "kerplunk" as it reached the sea.
After a few moments, the storm picked back up again and you'd think that nothing had happened at all if it weren't for the smell of calamari in the air.
