From Monday through Thursday this week, Shirt.Woot will be selling some of our favorite non-winning designs from the first few weeks of our Derby. There may be no second acts in American lives, but it turns out there are second acts in American t-shirt design competitions.
Countless movie preview voice-overs would have us believe that there's a little bit of hero in all of us. This is especially true if the hero in question is Duct Tape Man, the sticky silver sentinel, who never met a crack, fracture, or fissure he couldn't fix. Whether it stays fixed or not is somebody else's problem. You don't need a radioactive spider or a red sun to assume this hero's powers - just a roll of duct tape, a can-do spirit, and poor judgment. One of these t-shirts wouldn't hurt, either.
This shirt was designed by: Joe "Josephus" Barnard, crochety uncle to the Woot forum family. He lives in the Maryland suburbs of DC with his wife and three kids, and he's trained as a research scientist specializing in lung disease. He holds the unofficial record for Honorable Mentions in the weekly Woot contest, which is appropriate, since this very sale is an "Honorable Mention" of sorts. And he drew the original SmartPost snail - respect must be paid!
Wear this shirt to: conceal your secret identity. Just make sure you cut some eyeholes first.
Don’t wear this shirt to: any kind of comic-book or sci-fi convention, unless you want to win Worst Costume.
This shirt tells the world: "Help is on the way - just not very good help."
We call this color: Hey, Duct Tape Isn't Brown.

Top Comments are discussion forum posts we have deemed worthy of your time. Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk. We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
