The message seemed so clear when we first received it beaming towards our world from the darkness of the cosmos. It was so simple, so easy decoded; surely it meant that the aliens were coming on a mission of compassion and peace! What else could those three words possibly mean?
The message became a mantra echoed throughout the globe within days. All over the world, our leaders planned huge welcoming displays of friendship and joy for their arrival. Scientists fantasized in the media with glee over the secrets they might share. There were naysayers, of course, but they were almost entirely silence by this new feeling of wonder that washed over our planet like a tidal wave. After all, the extraterrestrials weren’t some scary creatures anymore. They were enlightened beings. We were sure of it.
On the day the first of their ships came screaming into our atmosphere, every man, woman, and child across the globe came together to greet them with open arms. For the first time on Earth’s history, all of its peoples were united, hopeful, and completely, utterly defenseless.
“Love conquers all,” the message had said. And conquer it did.
Wear this shirt: if you cry every time you watch the birth scene in Enemy Mine.
Don’t wear this shirt: if you like your aliens more like Predator than E.T.

Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk. We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
