Why nap? My buddy went to the last one and every time that joyous vampire showed up on the screen, my buddy would start squealing like a girl.

We are tempted to take a large group to the next one and do it. Granted we will get kicked out, but it will be worth it.

That was the plan at the last movie, but it was so boring I fell asleep before I had a chance to squeal like a schoolgirl. 40 minutes of Bella pining away for that sparkly vampire was more than I could handle. My girlfriends woke me up as the credits rolled. Can't wait to do it again in June wearing this awesome shirt!

I'm going to feel stupid if I'm wrong... But shouldn't it be "write a book about a vampire whom sparkles."

Because you would say "write about book about him" not he, "a vampire" is the indirect object in this case, and who (or as it should be whom) is referring to the vampire.

Don't feel stupid, but you're wrong. Don't worry - English is too complicated for anyone! 'Who' is correct, because 'he' sparkles. I knew I was right, but had to look it up to be sure and be able to explain why:
(Example) The delegates differed as to who they thought might win. (Not whom. Here the entire clause is the object of the preposition. Substitution is particularly helpful in cases such as this. They thought he might win.)

I don’t get the animosity for what seems like every designer that uses a different style. What's the deal with that? This shirt is funny! Perhaps the joke was missed? The shirt is saying that a certain author who butchered the vampire genre with sparkling vampires killed the genre. It's hysterical! And the graphic is perfect. Love that no-face "caution" guy! I’d definitely wear one.

Easy, Chief. While I'm not a huge fan of this design, I really do appreciate the thought and emotion behind it. I read all the Twilight books, getting more impatient with every page. Then I saw the first movie, so badly cast and butchered even a mediocre novel was gutted of substance. I haven't seen the second - special effects just aren't enough for me.
Any-hoo... While this m ay not be the most brilliant shirt, or the most well-done, it pushes a button for a lot of people that NEEDS pushing. So I respect it for that. Maybe it really doesn't belong in this Derby, and even more probably, not in the fog. But it would make a great shirt, it really would. If I'd seen this elsewhere, I probably would have bought it out of sheer spite to my Twilight-zombie friends. I have not voted for it, because I happen to agree with you on its mis-application of the theme. But c'mon - it's funny, it really is!

Re: Stephenie the Vampire Slayer

I freely admit, this shirt made me laugh SO HARD.

From a design perspective, the serif font you used is difficult to read on the shirt, particularly from a distance. I DO NOT advocate using comic sans! However, another sans serif font would likely be much easier to read, and if you found one with rounded edges it would have the added bonus of matching your characters.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the other thing that makes the font hard to read is the black outlining/background to the text and frames. With this color of shirt, I think it's dark enough that the white will stand alone and actually stand out more for not having the black bordering. Particularly on the frames, you could just make them a little thicker.

For some reason, the border on the people and stake doesn't bother me. That's probably because they have a lot more white to them so the border is more incidental, and they have other black features (eyes, stake, hair, sparkles)

ahhh yes yes yes of course, "a vampire who sparkles" is all its own clause or preposition or whatever. Therefore it is he sparkles.

Hmm, I've been out of Grammar class for far too long I suppose.

On a somewhat related note, this shirt has my vote, I love it.

Hilarious. GMV. I've grown weary of Adder's consistently negative and hateful comments. I happen to like the serif font. It's not an interstate sign for chrissakes. A t-shirt doesn't have to be a Michaelangelo to be funny, attractive, and effective. Well done!

Re: Stephenie the Vampire Slayer

As much as I love this shirt and actually would want one... Isn't it kinda off topic? The theme is "how it works" not "how to do." Unless you want to argue "this is how killing a vampire works" which is shaky at best.

+1, you're looking too far into it Adder. It's not about literally killing vampires, it's more of the idea of what kills the vampire-ness. The current crop of "vampires" are so far off from the original concept that it's essentially killed what makes them vampires in the first place.

At least that's my feeling.

You really dont get the joke? You seriously cant understand how writing a book about vampires that sparkle, which then becomes a movie, that is then shoved down our throats by the mass media, kills vampires for those of us with half a brain? Seriously?

Actually, its correct. Because "who" is the subject of "sparkles". You would only use whom if there was another subject..like "Edward is the vampire whom I hate."

Adder's right this time... I tattled on this one actually, because it doesn't fit the "How does it work" or "How is it made" theme. It's more of a "How-to" manual. I think it's funny, but save it for a time when it's actually applicable. And I agree that "Twilight" is totally balderee.
