Re: Fantastic Musketeers [Resub]

I faded the castle and moved the dots around to richen the colors & added highlights to the ground. I like the title better, also.

OK, here's my take on it, Porthos (The Bear) is "The Thing, D'Artagnan (The puppy) is "Johnny Torch," Athos (The Fox) would be Reed, and Sue Richards (wearing an eye patch and fake mustache) would be Aramis (The Puss in Boots).

There is a very similar dynamic between the two teams of four. Especially Ben & Johnny and Porthos é Le Garçon d'Artagnan. I spoke with Stan about it and he said that's who he had in mind when he wrote the Comic book. Yeah, me & Stan "The Man" Lee, we're tight.

Poser. Love this. I can't believe those pantaloons don't put you over the color allowance - SO soft. Not happy that the epee cuts right through the fox's face, but I am dead sure the perspective was a PWNY. Sa-weet! I will vote, even with the bifurcated Fox.

I tried everything, save redrawing it, to not go across his face, but the way I have it you can see both eyes, a nose, and his mustache and he still fits the perspective. I wanted to show him off, too. I even made Porthos smaller, but it didn't look right. This was the lesser evil.

I'm real happy with everyone's role in the illo. I think its well balanced and not overstated.

Thanks for the vote!

Today's my Birthday, JFYI, I'm 29 again.
If you want to give me a present, how 'bout a *VOTE* for the "Fantastic 4 Musketeers?"

Thanks,

Here's some close-ups of the halftones.

No dot is smaller than 30 lpi @ 300 dpi. No halftones were harmed in the making of this image.

oh my, puppies on blue!
VOTE!
This is totally awesome and very smart! The cartoon is cute but not "cutesie" I love the little puppy, he is so adorable! The bear is perfect. The castle is spectacular, perfect for that era, it's truly French.

Your halftones are off the hook! The way you make those colors is beyond my understanding but I love them! You make six colors look like "sique" colors!

I did have time to do one this woot, but I'l be here next time, good luck, this should do very well!

Happy Birthday, BlindDog3D, many happy returns! I raise a glass o' wine for you.

OK then, this is what I am use to seeing from you. I love this!!!

Man you really do go all out with those Halftones. Any way the concept and idea are very well executed and I like it on the baby blue.

Color is my BAG, baby, I just had to learn how to do it. DraxXx helped a lot... and it's on LeFluer Blue, Thank you very much.

This is now officially my most voted-on design.

Thank you to all who voted, I appreciate it. Next time, I will strive to find the perfect mix of design, execution, and more sique halftone colors. I'm going for 100 votes, so I'm gonna bring it (I hope it's a good one).

Cheers, see you next time!

Thanks, J-dawqg!
We need to do a collaboration, but your gonna have to dedicate a Thursday all-nighter, or at least start the lines at noon. I'll spraypaint it by Noon Friday. You line, I dot. If it prints, we split it 40/30/30 because of my split personality(50/50).
