Welcome, [new employee’s name here], to OZ-Mart and congratulations on earning your Oz-Mart Apron and Red Shoes! As the newest member of our guild, we wish to welcome you to the most magical grocery mart this side of the rainbow!

We realize your new job may seem like a dream, please try to “keep it real” when it comes to customer service. Here are three easy to remember buzzwords to keep in mind as you go about your shift. Stick to these core principles and you’ll be a wiz in no time!

Brains – Use your head and think ahead! Be aware of how much time it takes to complete your daily tasks and make a personal plan to help you ease on down your workload’s road before it becomes a flying monkey on your back. Remember: Work smart, not hard!

Heart – Our employees care about the customer experience, and we want to make sure that shows in everything we do. Look for opportunities to help our patrons, whether you’re pulling something down from a high shelf, leading them to a product, or helping take their bags to the car. And be sure to give them a great big Yellow Aisle Smile while you do!

Courage – Never surrender to apathy or complacency in the work place. The good Oz-Mart employee is never afraid to voice his or her concern where our customers are concerned. If you have a great idea or see a problem that needs fixing, be sure to drop a note in the box just outside the manager’s curtain! (NOTE: any attempts to look behind the curtain will end in immediate dismissal.)
