I don’t know; I still like the movies, but after re-watching them…
I don’t know, I sat down with my kid the other day to re-live the magic of Star Wars and all that junk, but I just came away feeling so empty. Maybe its majesty was lost on the small screen, maybe we’re just jaded from the annual summer CGI explosion in movie theaters, but it just seemed to have lost its charm.
The acting’s a little stilted, the characters are pretty stereotypical, and the effects just aren’t what I remembered.
Like in that one scene with the bantha, did you notice the feet underneath the costume? Was that an elephant or something? Because if so that would have to be the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of. Seriously. I can’t imagine why someone would even think of such a thing, because it’d be cheaper to have some guys with sticks or something under there.
