I'm not like the rest of these sheep. The rest of these sheep are sheep. But me, I'm no sheep.
Okay, let me clarify: I am technically a sheep, DNA-wise, but I'm not a sheep, like I don't follow the herd.
Okay, let me clarify some more: the term 'sheep,' meaning someone who doesn't stray from the herd, is based on sheep, the species, which I am, genetically-speaking, but I don't share the same genetic disposition towards following the herd as the rest of these sheep which are sheep.
Okay, hold on I don't think I'm making myself clear: I am a sheep, and not ashamed to be a sheep, but I'm also proud not to exhibit the typical sheep demeanor, which is to be a sheep, i.e. a follower, because I don't follow; I stand out from the metaphorical herd, which in this instance is a literal herd of sheep, that herd right over there, in fact.
Okay, I feel like I'm close to saying what I really mean to say here: while the sheep in that herd of sheep over there belong to the same species as I do, there's no denying a certain difference in our outlook, which is to say that they're happy to be sheep, whereas I'm not, and in this instance I mean the word 'sheep' in the metaphorical sense--like, they just do what the herd does, the herd here being an actual herd, while I don't do what the herd does, whether that herd be a herd of sheep or 'herd' of 'sheep'--because I'm proud of my sheep heritage and happy to be who I am, which is a sheep, but not a sheep, so to speak.
Okay, here: let's use an analogy. Let's say those sheep over there are like a pack of-- oh crap, they're moving on! I better follow the herd so it's easier for people to see that I'm not just some sheep who follows the herd. Or... wait a minute...
