So everyone knows that you get to make a wish when you blow the seeds off a dandelion. But what many people don’t know is it’s actually just one of many dandelion-related myths originally conceived of by flower theorist, Ernest Mayberry. Here are a few of his others:

• If you blow the seeds off of a dandelion and into the sea, you get to make a wish, but it has to involve fish in some way. So don’t blow the seeds off a dandelion near the ocean unless you’re really into fish.
• If you pick the seeds off of a dandelion one at a time, you can change one famous classic guitar solo into a cello solo. Choose wisely!
• If you gather the dandelion seeds and start a small, controlled fire with them in your kitchen sink, you won’t need to pay your utilities bill for two months.
• If you take the dandelion seeds, bake them into a loaf of pumpernickel bread, and then feed that loaf of bread to the woman of your dreams, she’ll profess her love for you. Subtextually. What she’ll probably say is something, “What are all these nasty white, fluffy things in this bread?” but don’t worry, there’s lots of love in those words!

Wear this shirt: if your skin is dry and flaky. The dandelion will provide a nice contrast.

Don’t wear this shirt: if you’re picking dandelions, blowing them off, and wishing you’d worn a different shirt.
