I think that I shall never believe
Any poem’s as sad as a fallen leaf.

A leaf whose shriveled corpse is fell
Upon the earth, as cold as hell.

A leaf forsaken by God today
Just waiting to be raked away;

A leaf that may in summer’ve been
A vibrant shade of healthy green;

But now is just another of
The many things we’re freezing off.
