Here's what you do. First, find a cartoonist, then commission him or her to draw a terrifying supernatural creature - zombie, vampire, ghost, whatever you want - except rendered in a kawaii style. Hang that picture somewhere prominent in your house. Over the course of the next 60 days, have the cartoonist make minor revisions to it, slowly changing the cute details to their more gruesome "reality."

The transition will be so slow that you won't even notice the change and by the end you will find the disgusting creature to appear quite friendly! Fears = conquered!
