Stephen Hawking was once told that every equation would cut his book sales by half. Then he went on to have an international best seller with A Brief History Of Time and now the whole world knows his name. We’re bringing this up because, as you can see, today’s shirt also has an equation on it, so we’re hoping for great things.
But just in case you’re one of those people who can’t tell at a glance what λ=v/f means, we’ll explain it to you now. See, the λ is a tiny horse, while the v is a deep deep canyon. And f, that’s a little fella with a pole, represented by /, and he’s trying to vault over the canyon and land on the horse. But the horse is in motion, or =, and so f has to figure out how fast λ is going forward and backward, while also keeping track of his movement from side to side. We call this “wave mechanics” and it helps us calculate everything, from what’s on the radio dial, to how the tide is coming in, to where exactly Ken needs to shoot a fireball in order to kill M. Bison.
See? Equations are cool once you understand them! Now watch for next week, when we illustrate how Cantor’s Theorem is really just the story of a dude telling his therapist about a snake-related nightmare.
Wear this shirt: if you work with forums user crapface. He’ll be so happy when he sees you.
Don’t wear this shirt: if you think that’s a four-dimensional neutrino path or something. Take it back to the Delta Quadrant, Janeway. This is REAL science.
This shirt tells the world: “I mean, I probably COULD set up your stereo to match optimal listening conditions, but I’m not gonna do it for free.”
We call this color: Navy = Na(fλ). And the y is just a garnish.
