Hercules wore the skin of a lion, partly because he was totally pimp, and partly because he wanted to prove to the world that he was the sort of man that could best a lion in combat.

It stands to reason that a mouse would do the same. That a mouse strong enough to best the homeowner with his sprays and traps would wear that homeowner’s skin, partly because it would be totally pimp, and partly because it would mark him as just that sort of mouse.
