Lions get feisty.

Jerry's a hard-headed lion. When Jerry decides it's time to fight a snake, it's time to fight a snake. That's just how it is. There ain't no arguing. You just say, "sure is time to fight a snake!" and hope to high heaven that you don't have to be the snake this time. 

Jerry's definition of snake has shifted over the years. Jerry's definition of snake used to just be snake. "A snake is a snake," Jerry used to say, but then the snakes started avoiding these parts on account of not wanting to fight Jerry all the time, and now Jerry calls whatever he feels like a snake. That stick could be a snake, that worm could be a snake, that rabbit could be a snake, a political ideology could be a snake. By Jerry's standards, this world is overrun with snakes.

But Jerry don't care about that. Jerry'll just say, "Not every snake's gotta slither, you feel me?" And you'll say, "Sure, Jer," because if there's one that proves you're not a snake in Jerry's eyes, it's agreeing with Jerry. That's just how it is with Jerry.
