Higgs And Seek
If you want to make people intensely interested in you, all you have to do is become a recluse and avoid public attention at all costs. Don't believe this paradoxical proposition? Just ask the Higgs Boson or J.D. Salinger: Two famous hideaways that piqued public curiosity all the more by their hermetic habits.
Salinger shot to fame in the 1950s with "The Catcher in the Rye," but public attention proved too much for the author and he holed up in his New Hampshire home for decades, avoiding all contact with the outside world. Yet his best efforts to escape the limelight only intensified public curiosity in his life, as evidenced by the recent documentary on Salinger's life and legacy.
Similarly, the Higgs Boson or "God Particle" was theorized to exist by Peter Higgs in 1964, but proved incredibly difficult to detect. The $9-billion Large Hadron Collider was built in large part to detect this privacy-obsessed particle, and its discovery was confirmed in 2012 to much fanfare, proving again that the harder you try to hide from the public, the harder they will try to find you.
Good luck, Alec Baldwin.
