Liberated by the forces of love, the people lined the streets to watch the tanks rumble through town. She noticed his smart military bearing and elegantly curled mustache. In his first and last letter to her, he promised to bring her to come live with him. The child started school last fall. He still doesn’t know who his father is, or why his skin has a yellow tinge.
