It’s really rad. Or so we’ve been told, anyway.

It’s not something we should have doubted, really. A cartridge with a battery inside? It was a huge jump! An evolutionary jump! But we were all so distracted by trying to solve the dungeons that we never even noticed.

But now, we’re able to distance ourselves from this link to the past. Now every other game takes place in a dungeon, and has you go talk to a shop keeper, and gives you a magic sword and a shield and requires you to memorize a small city’s worth of terrain. We’re finally at the point when we can wonder: “How did this all happen? From whence did this arise?”
